All our Turkey tours begin with your arrival at Istanbul
Ataturk airport.
If you are flying from Phoenix you need to depart
1 day earlier as most of the flights arrive next day in
Istanbul.
Airport - hotel - airport transfers are
complimentary as long as you arrive/depart on the first
and last day of the tour. You can arrive/depart anytime
during the day. There is no limitation, transfers will
be arranged accordingly.
Our packages do not include international flights. You are free to
book your own flights.
Turkish Airlines have direct flights from Los Angeles
and Houston to Istanbul. You can check flight schedules at

Alternatively you can connect via major cities in Europe
like London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rome etc.

local travel agency in your neighborhood.
Visa
U.S passport holders need visa for Turkey.
As of April 17, 2013, electronic visa (e-Visa)
replaces “sticker visa” which was issued at the border
crossings. Applicants just need to log on to
www.evisa.gov.tr , provide
the requested information, (after the application is
approved) make online payment and download their e-Visa.

Currency
The local currency in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TL)
available in the following denominations: banknotes: 5, 10, 20,
50 &100 TL; coins: 10, 25 & 50 kuruş and 1 TL.
Cash can usually be exchanged without commission at exchange
offices (döviz buro), banks and hotels.
Exchange offices offer better rates, hotel reception rates are
usually higher and are subject to additional commission.
Traveler's cheques are not widely accepted, can be exchanged at
banks and at some large hotels but are subject to premium
charges.
Cash machines (ATMs) are available throughout Turkey,
accepting major credit and bank cards (Visa,
MasterCard, Cirrus and Maestro)
and instructions are often available in English. It is advisable
to inform your bank in advance that you are travelling to Turkey as some
banks will automatically put a stop on cards after the first use in an
attempt to combat fraud.
International credit (Visa & MasterCard) and debit cards are
widely accepted in shops and restaurants throughout Turkey. However
it is advisable also to carry cash (TL) for the smaller shops
and cafes, particularly in more rural areas.
American Express cards are rarely accepted.
